Essential Question

How can sixth grade students promote environmental stewardship on behalf of Mission Trails Regional Park?

Project Overview

Environmental stewards strive to sustain natural resources and our environment for future generations. In this project, Mrs. Carter’s sixth grade students will partner with Mission Trails Regional Park to write, film, and edit a 8-10 minute team video about local San Diego habitats and environmental stewardship.  Students will study local habitats including chaparral, grasslands, and sage scrub, develop a environmental stewardship journal, and learn filming and editing techniques using Google’s WeVideo app.  Mission Trails Regional Park is located eight miles northeast of downtown San Diego and encompasses nearly 5,800 acres of both natural and developed recreational areas. It is one of our nation’s largest urban parks.
